Should this much water come from my sump pump discharge

No! This is a sign that you have a serious issue. The water that the sump pump discharges is water under and around your home’s foundation. This picture shows a tremendous amount of water around the home’s foundation. Typically when this much water is around the foundation the culprit is poor water management. Gutters, downspouts, drains, sump pump discharges, etc. are used as weapons to manage water.  If these weapons are installed wrong, clogged, or past their useful lifespan water will remain around the foundation and cause major issues.
